Jon has a broad interest in the application of measurement technology in sport. He has experience of using a range of systems to measure force, motion, sound, vibration, strain etc. In particular, he is interested in optical or image based technologies and has experience in motion capture, digital image correlation, laser Doppler vibrometry and fibre optic sensing. A number of projects have either developed bespoke measurement systems or validated commercially available systems.
